2005 range from Giant

RCUK met Giant at yesterday’s Cycle Leisure Show at Sandown so here’s the highlights from the 2005 range, including new carbon road and TT frames and some proper kid’s racing bikes. Also there’s more price points for the TCR and OCR ranges.

TCR Composite Advanced road frame

The very latest in carbon frame technology. Giant have produced this frame from special thread and with three piece monocoque moulds rather than tubes. The extended seat tube is to be cut to length once the seat height has been decided, there is 20mm of adjustment in case you make a mistake. As ridden in the Tour (they disguised the stealth seatpost arrangement). It will cost you £1999.99 for the frame and fork.
Superlight (around 1kg) and super stiff. Available in 4 sizes 46.5, 50, 53.5 and 55.5. Click on the thumbnails below for closer details.

TT Composite Advanced Frame
Again as used by the T-Mobile squad in this year’s Tour de France. £1999.99 for the TT frame and fork (this price includes the carbon tri bars, armrests and a full carbon UCI legal fork) Features include rear facing dropouts and concealed cable runs. It also has an adjustable seat clamp so you can alter the seat angle slightly. Similar technology to the Advanced road frame, but a little heavier. Three sizes S, M & L.

TCR range

The TCR range is now available in five sizes. It’s £999.99 for the new TCR carbon frame and fork. £2750 for the complete bike featuring a high end specification – full Ultegra 10 speed Group and wheels. The finishing kit is from ITM. £2999.99 will get you a Jan Ullrich replica, which features a full Dura Ace group and wheels and carbon finishing kit. I think you’ll agree, a stellar bargain.
An AluxX SL version of this frame is still available. The AluxX TT frame is still available as are the Track and Cyclo-cross frames.
There is also the TCR 26″ – a 650c small frame available in 45cm, to suit women and smaller riders, with a carbon fork for £469.99.

New OCR

Major bargain time. The OCR bike has now gone semi-compact at this price point and the result is set to be less aggressive. £425 buys you a lot of bike here with Shimano Sora and a triple crank, Up to the OCR Zero with Full Ultegra for a staggering £1125.00. Campagnolo options available all with top specs and matching Campag wheels.

Giant bikes for little people

£399.99 for either the Junior Jan Ullrich replica or a standard STI 8 speed with 24 inch wheels and 150mm short cranks. The perfect steed for the budding pro rider.
available in one size – 42cm
