Sebastien Langeveld’s Cervelo R3 Mud
Sebastien Langeveld’s Cervelo R3 Mud
Cervelo have a proud Paris-Roubaix history at Paris-Roubaix, with the R3 having been piloted to three victories in its eight-year existence, by Fabian Cancellara, Stuart O’Grady and Johan Vansummeren.
The R3 Mud has an altered fork compared to the standard R3, with a more pronounced shoulder for comfort and a wider stance for additional clearance being the most obvious changes.
Like many riders, Sebastien Langeveld swapped his carbon bottle cages for the stainless steel equivalent from sponsor, with the metal construction providing a better grip on the cobbles. Langeveld’s Mavic Cosmic Carbone 40T wheels were shod with FMB Paris-Roubaix tyres, though they were let unbadged as Mavic typically provide the team’s rubber.
Langeveld went on to finish eighth at the 2014 Paris-Roubaix, having also claimed a top ten finish at the Tour of Flanders, but the Dutch rider will not be riding a Cervelo next year after Garmin-Sharp merged with Cannondale, who will provide the bikes.
