Alexander Kristoff’s Canyon Aeroad CF SLX
Alexander Kristoff’s Canyon Aeroad CF SLX
Canyon launched the Aeroad CF SLX just days before the Tour de France and Milan-San Remo Alexander Kristoff (Katusha) gave it the perfect start in life with two stage wins.
Designed to combine the aerodynamic edge of the Speedmax CF time trial machine with the low weight and comfort of the Ultimate CF SLX, ridden to Giro d’Italia victory by Nairo Quintana, the Aeroad is one of the most striking machines in the peloton.
A new tube profile, the Trident 2.0, contributes to both its performance and visual identity. The Trident profile is borrowed from the Speedmax but uses a shorter and wider profile said to be more effective at the slower speeds at which road races are typically ridden.
Integration has been a big focus for Canyon, too, with Canyon’s proprietary Aerocockpit is an aero-profiled design which combines the handlebar and stem in one unit.
Braking and shifting is looked after by Shimano’s range-topping Dura-Ace groupset, with direct-mount front and rear brakes.
The Canyon Aeroad CF features in the RCUK100 – RoadCyclingUK’s definitive guide to the 100 best products for 2015. Coming soon.
