Bikes of the 2013 Tour de France: Tony Martin and Sergey Lagutin

The Tour de France is often a showcase for the latest technical developments from some of the biggest brands in cycling.

The hundredth edition was no different, with world time trial champion, Tony Martin, becoming the second member of his team to use SRAM’s new Hydraulic Road Rim brakes after Mark Cavendish.

And most of the Vacansoleil-DCM squad, including former under-23 world road race champion, Sergey Lagutin, put to use the latest high-end machine from Bianchi, a firm with an enviable history: the Oltre XR2.

Photographer, Roz Jones, took these detailed shots of the machinery on display at the stage 17 mountain time trial, from Embrun to Chorges.
