The RideLondon-Surrey Classic gave us the chance to get up close and personal with the bikes of some of the world’s best cyclists in our own backyard.
Two hotels in the shadow of London’s Excel Centre served as the base for the 25 squads on the start list.
We stopped by on Saturday and watched as each team’s mechanics prepared their riders’ bikes ahead of Sunday’s race.
The Pinarello Dogma 65.1 Think 2 of Team Sky rider Josh Edmonson sat glistening in the sun, ready for action in Britain’s biggest one-day race. British Cycling’s sponsorship agreement with Pinarello also extends to the Academy, whose riders were each equipped with a Pinarello Paris, second from top in the Italian bike manufacturer’s range.
