BMC and Lamborghini have joined forces to create a limited edition of the Impec to celebrate the Italian supercar manufacturer’s 50th anniversary.
The appropriately named 50th Anniversary Lamborghini Edition Impec will cost a cool 25,000 Euros, but you’re unlikely to see another on your training loop: just 50 will be made.
This isn’t the first time BMC and Lamborghini have collaborated: last April, a limited edition run of the Impec was produced in Lamborghini’s Argos orange, but that was a comparatively inexpensive 20,000 Euros.
BMC’s press man was keen to stress the cutting edge nature of the design philosophies of both companies, and their willingness to “think outside the design box”.
Both companies manufacture their own carbon fibre, for example. The Impec’s is woven by computer-controlled robots at the company’s headquarters in Grenchen, Switzerland, while Lamborghini make their carbon bodywork in Sant’Agata, Bologna (we mention it in case that’s a factor in choosing your next car).
The 50th Anniversary Lamborghini Edition Impec will be dressed in Campagnolo’s Super Record EPS groupset, and have a saddle and handlebar tape fashioned from the same leather used to upholster the seats in the Lamborghini Aventador.
The latter, by the way, will set you back £300,000 – an argument likely to convince even the most reluctant spouse of the money-saving benefits of purchasing the Impec.
