Olympic and triple world champion Chris Boardman MBE has entered an exclusive partnership with Halfords to sell a range of cycles of his own design. The Boardman range, comprising road, mountain and hybrid machines, will be exclusive to Halfords and will be sold through both Halfords stores across the UK and through the Halfords-owned Bikehut chain of cycle-only outlets.
The range comprises nine models with 30 frame sizes between them at prices up to £1400. Boardman-branded clothing and accessories including a 22-function cycle computer and carbon-fibre bottle cage will be offered alongside the bicycles. Boardman, who thrice wore the yellow jersey of leader of the Tour de France and who will be providing TV commentary on the race this year, is widely considered Britain’s most successful racing cyclist. He is also the director of research and development for the highly successful Great Britain cycling team as they prepare for the Beijing Olympics.
