Ardent readers of RCUK will be familiar with Burls. Last year we were lucky enough to test both winter bike and fixed variants of the titanium frames, but seeing as the race season is firmly upon us, Justin Burls has sent us a road frame to test.
This frame is made from mandatory 3AL/2.5V titanium with an aero-shaped downtube, diamond-profiled top tube and Breezer dropouts. This is just an example of the type of road frame Burls can build, the website listing a myriad of options for somebody seeking a custom frame.
Burls is the outlet for one man, Justin Burls, who has years of experience and expertise designing and building frames, with a keen interest in satisfied customers. While steel has been the material of choice, the company offers titanium options, with the frames made in Russia.
Prices start from £950. More at www.burls.co.uk
