To celebrate Cannondale’s 35th anniversary, just “35” Six13 Team SI Ltd Edition bikes have been manufactured, each one individually numbered to prove its authenticity. Equipped with Dura Ace groupset, integrated Carbon SI crank, Ksyrium ES wheelset and FSA K-Force carbon handlebar and seatpost, these limited edition models feature Cannondale’s Six13 Team frameset with Premium Plus full carbon fork. Each frame is ball burnished and finished with retro-style graphics.
Canonndale’s roots
Established in 1971, above a Connecticut pickle factory, the original product to display, the now globally recognised, Cannondale branding was the worlds first bicycle towed trailer called (wait for it…) the Bugger [ahem].
It wasn’t until 1983 that the TIG welded aluminium ST500 touring bike was released, marking a revolution in alternative frame materials. At a time when steel was the material of choice, Cannondale favoured the use of Aluminium for the performance advantages that it offered, namely light weight.
Since then atheletes like; Cadel Evans, Mario Cippolini, Gilberto Simoni and Damiano Cunego have all been key ingredients in Cannondale’s product development, going on to win some big races on their Cannondale bicycles.
Innovation continued on a seasonal basis with notable high points including:
1997 – CAAD3 road technology wins the Giro d’ Italia and holds the yellow jersey for four days in the Tour de France.
1999 – CAAD4 Road technology takes four stages and the fastest ever Tour de France stage.
2003 – Gilberto Simoni wins the Giro d’Italia on a CAAD7 Si Hollowgram frame. Six 13 debuts at the Tour de France, winning the hardest mountain stage from Saint-Girons to Loudenvielle.
2004 – Damiano Cunego wins the Giro d’ Italia on his CAAD8.
2005 – Synapse full carbon road bike is launched, marking a new level in all day performance and comfort.
To mark their 35th anniversary, limited edition Six13 bicycles will be produced. Each will display the latest frame technology, whilst taking on typically ‘retro’ aesthetics and finishes.
The 35th anniversary Six13 Team will have full Dura Ace group set, SI carbon 39/53t crankset and Mavic Kysrium ES wheels
A Six13 Pro is available with Shimano 105 10-speed components, SI carbon 36/50t crankset and Mavic Aksium wheelset.
