Evans Cycles is soon to deliver its third store opening in as little as two months as its all-new Brighton outlet opens to the public. This latest store, which caters for the growing cycle market on the south coast, follows on from new outlets in London’s Canary Wharf and York’s store-in-store at the Monks Cross shopping mall.

The rapid and continued expansion of Evans Cycles throughout the UK in part stems from a substantial growth in the popularity of cycling, as more people take to pedal power. Mike Rice, Managing Director of Evans Cycles, believes the consumer desire for diversity of brands, products and price has led to Evans Cycles’ ongoing success.

“We’ve clearly seen our success grow thanks to the myriad of products currently on the market,” he says. “At Evans Cycles a consumer can purchase a bike from £200 right up to £4,000. They can choose any brand they want, and any kind of bike accessory. That breadth of choice is what consumers want, and ultimately what drives sales.”

In response to recent news of Specialized opening their own concept store in Chester, Rice says, “Specialized is a great brand, one of the best, and we’ve stocked their bikes for 17 years. But a single brand outlet might not entice consumers in the same way a fully catered store can. I wish them well, and it will be interesting to see how it pans out.”

Of his own new Brighton store, Rice says, “Brighton’s emergence as a designated cycling demonstration town shows the importance locals place on their environment, health and safety. We’re looking forward to helping enhance Brighton’s reputation as a cycling hotspot by providing quality products and advice to get people on the road.”

As with every Evans Cycles store, a fully equipped workshop will exist on site at the Brighton outlet, staffed by qualified and helpful mechanics. The new store will be open from 8am to 8pm from Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 6pm Saturday and 11am to 5pm Sunday.

The new Brighton store takes Evans Cycles’ retail portfolio to a total of 25 stores throughout the UK, plus a dedicated national mail order centre.
