Christmas gift guide 2013: six items for less than £20

Six ideal stocking fillers for the cyclist in your life, which will not cost the earth

A set of lights should be priority number one if you are heading onto the roads during the winter with the hours of daylight at their shortest. But even if you do not intend to ever be caught out in the dark, you can never go too far wrong with a set of back-up lights. They are handy to keep on your bike all-year round as a ‘just in case’ or to stick in your desk if you ever stay in the office unexpectedly late.

The Lezyne Femto Light is an ideal option as a cheap, lightweight ’emergency light’

And as back-up lights go, the Lezyne Femto safety lights are a great option. They are battery-powered, although not rechargeable with a spare CR2032 battery needed after 30-60 hours of riding. But the lights are easy to mount – with curved brackets and a silicone band – and incredibly light at just 22 grams. Offering just 15 lumens of light they are not for standalone commuting but at £12.99 each they are a great option for emergency lighting.
