Moa Fredonia Jersey (Astana)

Italian brand Moa may fly under the radar compared to some clothing companies featured here, but the Fredonia jersey is their weatherproof number, and something that could be sported by Astana riders is the weather turns nasty.

Moa say the Fredonia’s main selling point is its thermal qualities, and construction is more like a short-sleeved jacket than a traditional jersey. It has a Mantotex membrane held together by heat taped seams and a warm collar lining.

Moa don’t make claims about the Fredonia’s water resistant qualities, but like the rest of the jerseys featured here, it’s probably fair to assume it’s at its best in damp weather, rather than heavy, persistent rain. But being short sleeved would make it a viable choice for spring days when it’s not warm enough for a summer jersey, but not cold enough to justify a full jacket.
