Canyon Ultimate CF SLX
Canyon unveiled the latest 2016 version of their flagship Ultimate CF SLX road ahead of the Tour de France, where Movistar’s Nairo Quintana rode it to second place (check out Quintana’s bike here).
The previous version of the Ultimate was one of our favourite bikes, combining a super-light frame and pin-sharp handling with great value, and the 2016 frame is designed to be more comfortable and aerodynamic than its predecessor.

The frame’s tube profiles have been reprofiled, with particular focus on the headtube and downtube, and Canyon have also borrowed the Aeroad’s Aerocockpit integrated handlebar and stem – all features to reduce drag.
The innovative integrated seatpost clamp, which lowers the clamp to the seatstays and seattube junction, is also new and said to improve comfort by up to 15 per cent thanks to its ability to absorb 50 per cent more vibration from the road.

And all this has come without hampering the stiffness-to-weight ratio on which the Ultimate has earned its reputation as a top-class climber’s bike. Make sure it’s on your list to check out at the Cycle Show.
