Lightweight gloves
Lightweight gloves
There are a number of ‘firsts’ to overcome as the season changes – one of them being the first ride in full-finger gloves.
That’s already been ticked off for the autumn of 2014 – for this cyclist, at least – during a series of particularly chilly early-morning rides at the start of September.
Leave your thermal, windproof gloves in the kit drawer – you won’t need them at this time of year and they can continue to collect dust until winter – but a pair of lightweight, full-finger gloves are a worthwhile investment to bridge the gap, if required, until then.
Look for thin, polyester gloves which will keep your hands warm while offering a good level of breathability. Again, they should be light and small enough to take off and stuff in a jersey if your ride starts in the early hours and subsequently warms up.
