-
A maximum of ten screens can each display up to ten data fields

The Edge 1000 continues to use Garmin's quarter-turn mount
5. Smartphone connectivity
The Edge 1000 builds upon the smartphone connectivity originally offered by the Edge 810.
Many of those features remain, with the computer able to offer live tracking and weather updates when paired with a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone. As we mentioned earlier, it can also auto-upload rides via Bluetooth or WiFi, saving you plugging it in to your computer after every ride unless you need to charge the device. Battery life, by the way, is a claimed 15 hours.
Building on those features, the Edge 1000 has been upgraded so that it’s now Bluetooth Smart-compatible and that means you can also receive push notifications for incoming call and text alerts if it’s essential you stay connected with the outside world while riding.
Those are the Garmin Edge 1000’s top-line features, now it’s time to put them to the test. There’s also plenty more to get our teeth stuck in to and we’ll fire a full review in due course.
