Integrated seat masts are rapidly becoming the norm on top-end carbon fibre bicycles, but there are drawbacks. Aside from the inherent problem with resale prospects, is the issue of being limited to the choice of seat mast that the manufacturer chooses to fit.

The K-Wing Aero integrated post is made from carbon kevlar composite with stainless/chromoly hardware, and is designed to fit aero-shaped integrated masts. It weighs 175g and costs €189.90.

The SL-K Carbon is designed for integrated 31.6mm seat tubes. It’s made from carbon kevlar composite and stainless/chromoly hardware, is 133m long and weighs 199g. Price TBA.
