Last year online retailer Wiggle, distributors of dhb, Lifeline and Focus bikes, ventured into the world of producing their own brand of bikes, and Kiron was launched.
The Easton Scandium tubed bike that followed was a fine handling bike that packed a lot of top quality kit on-board while the price tag was kept low. For 2010 Wiggle has big plans for the brand – an entire range of sportive-specific bikes will be launched.
The new range is the result of extensive product testing and the teams combined years of design experience to relaunch the Kiron brand with a new focus. The bikes are designed in the UK and “aimed at
those spending hour after hour in the saddle, where performance and
comfort are essential.”
There’ll be three models, the Kilmeston, a winter training bike made featuring a 7005 alloy frame with mounts and space for racks and mudguards. With more of a race outlook the Millook is lighter and stiffer but with a carbon rear triangle. Lastly, the Rhigos is a full carbon frame and fork package built using a lug-and-tube approach which allows for six sizes from XS to XXL.
The new range hasn’t yet been officially launched however, but you can get an idea of where the brand is heading by popping over to the Kiron Blog – blog.kironbikes.com More soon.
