Launched in 2008, Kurve have attempted to shake up the brake caliper market with their CNC machined aluminium brakes. Now Kurve are handling the UK distribution themselves and, as a result, are able to offer lower prices and free UK shipping.

Which is great news for those who want a set of brakes machined from 6061 T6 aluminium with titanium bolts and 7075 aluminium barrel adjusters to keep the weight low. Initially, eight models were available but Kurve have simplified the range, with just two models to choose from: black or red.

“Their low weight and excellent value matched the ethos of the brand and as the year progressed we began to think about other products that we could include in the range, determined to retain the same standards of value and quality. This process is ongoing and we hope to launch several new lines over the next year,” says Andy Brooke at Kurve.

And they stack up well on the weight front. Kurve claim 199g which compares well with the 265g quoted for SRAM RED and 293g for Shimano DuraAce.
