Lezyne made their move into the lights market this time last year – now they’re back with a bigger and brighter range for 2013.
The existing Mini Drive, Power Drive and Super Drive front lights have evolved into the Mini Drive XL (£54.99), Power Drive XL (£84.99) and Super Drive XL (£99.99), with the new line seeing an increase in lumen output for each model (from 150, 300 and 450 Lumens to 200, 400 and 500 Lumens respectively).
The new oversized aluminum and CNC-machined bodies run cooler and reduce weight, while what Lezyne term the Intelligent Power Indicator has red and green LEDs built into the power button to monitor power levels during use and recharging. Optics have been upgraded to one-piece MOR lenses which Lezyne claim increase light transmission by 10 per cent. All three lights attach to the bike using a thumb-screw clamp and are USB rechargeable.
Those lights are aimed at serious night riders, with Lezyne’s new Macro Drive (front, £54.99) and Micro Drive (front/rear, £39.99 each/£69.99 pair) lamps aimed at the commuter market. Again, the lights have CNC-machine aluminium bodies and are USB rechargeable.
The Macro Drive produces 300 lumens for three hours on blast mode. The Micro Drive front light produces 150 lumens for two hours on blast mode, while the Micro Drive rear is a safety light with a 30-lumen output on five modes.
Finally, the Femto Drive (front/rear, £12.99 each/£21.99 pair), which we brought you a sneak peakf earlier this year, is a super-compact safety light, with a CNC-machined aluminum body with a composite back plate which, like the Macro Drive and Mini Drive, attaches to the bike via a rubber strap. Lezyne say it is “extremely water resistant”.
