British titanium specialist Sabbath Bicycles has unveiled a new line of components comprising quick release skewers, branded aluminium seatpost clamps and titanium seatposts, which will be available through the existing dealer network alongside the established bike and clothing range.
Heading up the range is Sabbath’s titanium seatpost, available in 31.6mm and 27.2mm sizes with a 10mm setback. Sabbath spotted that there is a mass of 20 and 25mm set back posts, and also a number of brands offering zero setback, but few brands offering much in between on the road market. The seatpost pillar is made from custom-drawn Reynolds 3Al/2.5V titanium tubing for comfort and durability. Featuring a USE Sumo clamp, the seatpost weighs 205g and retails at £129.99.
Greg Roche, MD at Sabbath Bicycles explains: “It’s a small thing, but as we’re doing more and more custom fit frames, and therefore bike setup to specific requirements, we spotted that ,for whatever reason, there’s a gap in the middle, and typically we’re seeing that a 10mm setback lands a rider right in the middle of the saddle rail. So we decided our product should meet that requirement.”
The new 3Al/2.5V titanium quick release skewers, which weigh in at 55g and retail at £39.99, are available in black. Sabbath’s aluminium seat clamp will now be standard on all Sabbath full bike builds and are available aftermarket at £16.99. Produced in gunmetal colour, and suitable for aluminium, titanium and carbon seatposts, the clamp weighs 25g.
Greg explains“The components will be standard options on some build kits and models shortly – the branded seat collar will be standard issue on all Sabbaths leaving the door from now on. But they will also all be available as aftermarket products to existing Sabbath owners and anyone else looking to add quality upgrades to their bike.”
