Pro bike: Alberto Contador’s Specialized S Works Tarmac SL4

Multiple Grand Tour champion, Alberto Contador (Saxo-Tinkoff), is the most successful Grand Tour rider of his generation.

Opinion on El Pistolero has been divided since the positive test for a minute trace of Clenbutorol that saw him stripped of his 2010 Tour de France and 2011 Giro d’Italia titles.

Few, however, will question Contador’s racing instinct,  the driving factor behind his relentless attacks whenever the road rises.

Contador is riding a Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL-4 at this year’s Tour de France in his bid to add a third Tour title to the victories racked up in 2007 and 2009.

Photographer, Roz Jones, took these detailed shots of the machine the Spaniard will hope to ride to victory in the hundredth edition of La Grande Boucle.
