The start of a new season gives us the chance to check out the latest race tech to hit the peloton.
We hopped across to the Balearic Islands to the Iberostar Challenge Mallorca – a series of four one-day races where riders including Bradley Wiggins and David Millar start their seasonsĀ – to scope out the latest bikes, components and kit for 2014.
The world’s number one-ranked team, Movistar, have switched bike sponsors from Pinarello to Canyon for the year ahead, while Millar will use Cervelo’s updated S3 aero bike for his final year as a professional.
What’s more, the veteran Scotsman will also sport a fresh pair of unique shoes for each and every race of his closing year in the peloton. We saw the first pair on the 37-year-old’s feet in Mallorca.
All that and more in the first of a bumper two-part photo gallery.
RoadCyclingUK attended Challenge Majorca as a guest of race sponsor Iberostar, staying at the Iberostar Playa de Muro hotel in Alcudia. For more information visitĀ www.iberostar.com
