Raleigh Cyclo-Cross
Raleigh Cyclo-Cross
One area in which Raleigh have gone big is cyclo-cross. The range contains six bikes designed to cater for beginners all the way up to season riders, and there’s something for everyone whether you’re after carbon or alloy.
The RX Team is the top offering, combining SRAM’s new single-chainring 1X groupset with their hydraulic disc brakes, rolling on a set of Cole tubular wheels and costing £3,500. At the other end of the scale, £800 will buy you an alloy frame and fork, and Shimano Sora groupset paired up with Tektro cantilever brakes.
With SRAM’s hydraulics available with their Rival group, though, you can go hydraulic for as little as £1,400 with the RX Pro. You might not get a full carbon chassis, but the lightweight alloy frame and full carbon C5 fork make the Pro a really good option for anyone who’s thinking about starting CX but wants the performance of disc brakes at a sensible price.
Raleigh have also entered the burgeoning gravel market. What’s the difference between that and cyclo-cross?
