London clothing brand Rapha has been constantly expanding its range of luxury performance clothing since they first arrived on the scene in 2004. Today Rapha has announced details of latest autumn and winter range and with more than 20 additions, the Rapha warehouse must be bulging to excess.

There’s three key themes for Rapha’s latest clothing additions: winter training, luxury urban and cyclo-cross – the latter a new and interesting extension of the company’s clothing range.

Winter Training

Classic Softshell Jacket

This is one of Rapha’s long-standing items, a favourite with riders everywhere that desire a jacket to take on the worst of the British winter. For this fourth edition there’s new bonded and stitched rear pockets, black internal trim and slightly more stretch in the soft shell fabric for an enhanced fit.

Softshell Gilet

Rapha had loads of requests from the Rapha race squad for a gilet made from its soft shell material, so it answered them with the Softshell Gilet. The same material as the Classic Softshell jacket, with a close race fit, reflective piping everywhere and three large pockets out back.

Softshell Gloves

Rapha’s softshell material really is fantastic stuff, and is put to great use in this pair of long-finger gloves. Palms are finished with leather with some high-density foam padding, with the leather extending to the finger tips for increased control.

Merino Hat and Collar

Made from Merino wool, the Hat is reversible and the Collar is fused with Lycra to wrap closely around your lower face and neck.

Cyclo-Cross

The cyclo-cross season will be kicking off right about now, and riders everywhere will be dusting down their crossers and heading to a muddy field for some lactic-fuelled racing. And now the keenest cross riders will be about to kit themselves out in Rapha, head to toe.

Developed in partnership with Independent Fabrication, Rapha will offer the Cross Jersey and Cross ¾ Bib Shorts, available with or without IF branding. For the rider who must have the full look, a Rapha/IF cross bike has also been developed in matching colours.

Luxury Urban Riding

Despite exuding a clear passion for all things road cycling over the years, Rapha has always had an interest in urban clothing, with its Fixed range containing some of RCUK’s long-time favourite clothing for riding about town.

The Luxury Urban Riding range aims to raise the notch a bit however, with items such as the limited (just 100 will be made) Tweed Softshell Jacket made from a pure wool outer in a Prince of Wales check based on the Classic Softshell jacket. The price reflects its limited numbers, and will ensure exclusivity.

The Fixed Jacket is a bit more practical. At home, aesthetically speaking, on or off the bike, the Fixed jacket is made from soft-touch Cordura, and features articulated shoulders, two front pockets and a hidden zipped pocket.

The Leather Town Glove is made from African hair sheep leather with high-impact padding on the palms. Available in Tan or Black.

The Fixed Shorts are now available in three colours, black, olive green, and blue. And the Fixed Jersey comes in two colours, navy and black and three back pockets.

Finally, we finish with a flourish. The Silk Scarf is described by Rapha as ‘the ultimate accessory for stylish riders’.
