Bigger is better as far as the Deda Superleggera 35 is concerned. The carbon fibre ‘bar has an oversized diameter of 35mm, when 31.7mm is typical, and that, Deda say, results in a claimed 50 per cent boost in stiffness. That extra stiffness can come at the cost of comfort but this is a handlebar with racing as its raison d’être. Despite the extra material used to beef up the Deda Superleggera 35, which uses Deda’s super-shallow Rapid Hand Movement shape, it doesn’t trouble the scales at a claimed 180g.
