Signed cyclo-cross photo annual auctioned for charity

Book featuring autographs of Wyman, Field, Nys, Harris and Dombroski to raise funds for World Bicycle Relief

A stunning annual of cyclo-cross images by photographer Balint Hamvas, signed some of the world’s leading riders, is being auctioned for charity.

Hamvas’ annual, compiled during the 2011/12 season, covers all eight rounds of the World Cup, as well as Superprestige and GVA Trophy races, and the World Championships on the famous sands of Koksijde.

Photographer Balint Hamvas has covered cyclo-cross at some of the sport’s most iconic venues, capturing the likes of Belgian legend Sven Nys (Pic: Balint Hamvas)

Featuring signed photos of the likes of Belgian legend and two-time world champion Sven Nys and British aces Helen Wyman, Ian Field and Nikki Harris, the book has been listed on eBay in aid of World Bicycle Relief.

Alongside race photographs, such as those featured on RoadCyclingUK, the annual also offers an insight into the lives of the riders, including spending a race day with Bart Wellens and visiting the Bioracer factory, clothing manufacturer for Nys, Lars Boom and Niels Albert.

Other autographs in the book include Czech star Zdenek Stybar, a two-time world ‘cross champion and member of Mark Cavendish’s Omega Pharma-QuickStep team on the road, former World Cup winners Kevin Pauwels and Niels Albert, and the late Amy Dombroski.

Lars van den Haar, who won the opening round of this season’s World Cup in Valkenburg, has also signed the book alongside Thijs Al, Tijmen Eising, Klaas Vantornout and Katerina Nash.

All money raised will be donated to World Bicycle Relief, who aim to provide sustainable transport for school children in Africa.

The auction, which ends on Saturday November 23 at 10pm, can be found at: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161144753544
