Verenti Bikes launched

Verenti Bikes soon to be available

Online retailer Wiggle first launched its own brand road bike, the Kiron Scandium, to much applause two years ago, and for 2010 follows this up with the launch of a complete range of bikes.

The bikes will carry the name Verenti, a word that has its origins in the French and Latin word “verite” literally meaning ‘Truth’. “The concept of truth and being true to oneself when riding seemed perfect to build a brand around, but to avoid any trademark issues (like we sadly experienced with Kiron) we have changed the spelling slightly,” say Verenti Bikes director Paul Bolwell.

The range will initially comprise of six sportive road bikes, including entry level alloy models up to a custom carbon lugged bike, all sharing special geometry design and specifications to ensure that ‘during a 7 hour ride the last 45 minutes is as pleasurable as the first without compromising speed and performance’.

Available from March 2010 will be the Verenti Sportive range and the specially designed ‘Me’ components. Until we get a close look at the actual bikes, here’s a few sneaky photos of the top-end Verenti Rhigos.01, a full-carbon bike equipped with Sram RED, Ksyrium SL’s and 3T components. First impressions are good.

“Our attention to detail, incredibly high standards, dedication and commitment have never faltered,” adds Paul. “We have spent countless hours researching, developing, designing and testing each and every model. Our love of cycling permeates everything we do and we want to ensure that the Verenti bike exceeds our customers’ expectations time and time again.”
