Wilier Cento 1 SR loses integrated seatpost
The Cento 1 SR is a staple of the Wilier range and is a pro-level frame which combines subtle aerodynamic features (the Cento 1 Air is Wilier’s full-fat aero road bike) with superb handling.
It’s a pro-level frame and will be raced by the UCI Pro Continental-registered UHC Professional Cycling Team in 2016, however, the frame has been updated and now has a conventional seatpost, rather than an integrated seatpost.
While Wilier say an integrated seatpost allows them to fine-tune the comfort of the Cento 1 SR, as they have full control over the carbon fibre layup, a conventional post is ultimately a more usable solution for regular riders, who may otherwise be concerned about cutting an integrated post.

Otherwise, the frame remains unchanged, with its integrated fork/headtube junction, aero-influenced Kammtail tube profiles BB386EVO bottom bracket and race-led geometry.
There are two bikes in the 2016 Cento 1 SR line-up, with the top-of-the-range Cento 1 SR Chorus dressed in a Campagnolo Chorus groupset and Campagnolo Eurus wheels for £3,599, and the Cento 1 SR Ultegra coming with a Shimano Ultegra groupset and Mavic Ksyrium Elite hoops for £3,199.
A quick word on the Cento 1 Air: it will be available with a Shimano Ultegra groupset and Mavic Cosmic Pro Carbon wheels for £3,999 for 2016.
Now let’s use this opportunity to take a look at Wilier’s range of flagship, super-light Zero 7 bikes for the new model year. More on the next page.
