The Zero 7 is Wilier's lightest frame, weighing less than 800g for a size medium
The Zero 7 is the lightest frame in Wilier’s line-up, with a guaranteed weight of less than 800g for a painted size medium frame.
It is essentially Wilier’s climber’s bike and is used by the Columbia Pro Cycling Team. While the frame remains unchanged for 2016, it’s worth looking at again.
Wilier’s SEI (Special Elastic Integrated) Film technology uses a viscoelastic material inserted between the Zero 7’s carbon fibre layers to reportedly improve the frame’s vibration dampening properties (that’s comfort to you and me), while also, Wilier claim, making the frame more impact resistant. The frame is made from high-modulus 60-ton carbon and that also contributes to the high stiffness-to-weight ratio.
Two bikes will made up the 2016 Wilier Zero 7 range. You can have a machine with a Campagnolo Record groupset and Campagnolo Shamal Mille wheels for a cool £5,699, or step down a level and there’s a bike with a Shimano Ultegra groupset and Mavic Ksyrium SLR wheels for £4,699.
