Zullo framesets come to UK

Who is Tiziano Zullo?

Born in 1952 at Stallavena, a small village close to Verona in the north of Italy, he raced for about 10 years in both regional and national races before beginning to build frames of his own in the ‘70s. He soon progressed to supplying frames to some better known Italian companies as well as selling frames within his local area under the ‘Zullo’ brand.

From 1978 he was able to export to countries like Germany, France, the USA and Australia and, from 1986 until 1992, was frame supplier to the TVM  team of top professionals such as Phil Anderson, Dimitri Konychev, Jesper Skibby and Scott Sunderland .

TVM rode Zullo frames built in Columbus SL, SLX, MAX and MS tubesets on the roads of Milan-San Remo, the Northern Classics, the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, la Vuelta a Espagna and the world championships.

In 1994, Zullo moved into the production of TIG-welded aluminium frames, which led to the production of aluminium/carbon and, by 2003, made-to-measure full carbon frames. Today Tiziano is still involved in framebuilding, producing a small number each year, mostly in steel. He is also responsible for all the frame graphics and some of the frame painting.

Zullo has appointed London boutique cycle outlet Mosquito Bikes as UK distributor for his framesets. The range currently comprises steel frames built with both lugless and lugged construction using Columbus or Dedaccia tubing. Stars of the range include the Inqubo (£2100), a lightweight Dedaccia 16.5 tubed lugless race frame, the Vergine (£2995), Columbus XCR stainless steel race and sportive frame and the Vintage (£2100), lugged 80’s style road frame.

All framesets are hand built to either custom or stock sizing (no extra for custom) and are available through Mosquito Bikes.
