Alex Dowsett joined Movistar from Team Sky in 2013 and has seen his career progress phenomenally since.

A Giro d’Italia stage win in his first year and a third British national time trial crown set the tone, with Commonwealth Games gold following in 2014 before Dowsett smashed the UCI Hour Record and sealed his first overall stage race win at Bayern-Rundfahrt in May 2015.
So how do you train to earn success at pro cycling’s top tier, riding for the team crowned world number one in the last two years?
Essex-born ace Dowsett wrote the foreward to training guide Fitter, Further, Faster and back when the book was launched we caught up with him to learn his training secrets.
