Mudguards will endear you greatly to your riding group; indeed, some club reliability trials demand guards as a right of entry.
They will also do a great deal to protect you from the elements.
You can find a range of tips on choosing mudguards by clicking here, but if you’re uncertain at the outset which type of ‘guard your steed will accept, a word with the mechanic in your local bike shop is highly recommended for tips on what will fit your bike and, more importantly, what will not.
And while still a contentious issue for many cyclists, the advent of the Ass Saver, means it is easy to carry something lightweight for summer – or less obtrusive if you prefer to keep your lines clean.
