A race previously won by a host of British world, Olympic and Paralympic champions will return next April.
The Cheshire Classic women’s road race, organised by Weaver Valley Cycling Club, will take riders on ten laps of 7.7km loop near Northwich, on Sunday April 28 2013.
Multiple Paralympic gold medalist, Sarah Storey, won last year’s race. Other previous winners include former world and Olympic road race champion, Nicole Cooke, Olympic silver medalist, Lizzie Armitstead, and double world junior road race champion, Lucy Garner.
Race organiser, Andy Wood, said: “We are hoping that 2013 will be the best yet. Some of the most exciting racing at the Olympics was in the women’s races and we want to build on the back of that.
“We are looking to add new features and more prize money to the race. Every single penny raised is invested back into the race”.
The race will feature as part of British Cycling’s National Lottery-funded Breeze series of women’s races.
A new website to promote the race includes advice from Storey, Garner, and Lucy Walker.
