Final preparations are underway for this year’s Classic, which takes place on Sunday 27th June 2010 and is the most popular yet in its four year history.
The entry of 2225 is the biggest so far and the event was sold out months ago in record time. Devon has the largest number of entries but riders are coming from the USA , France, Holland and Germany.
Ed Coats ,who skied nearly 500 miles to the South Pole with James Cracknell and Ben Fogle (covered in a five-part BBC documentary) will launch his ‘30at30’ challenge with a 100mile entry. He plans to complete 30 endurance events in his 30th year.
The event is full. There are no entries on the day. The organisers would appreciate as many early registrations on Saturday 26th (from 2-6pm) as possible at the Depart Village at Abbrook Sports Club , Kingsteignton, where the event also starts.
There will be prize draws every hour on the Saturday, and music, stalls, a pasta party and hasselled Mid Devon Cycle Club organisers to amuse and entertain.
