The 2010 Brompton World Championships will take place on October 3 – with 750 cyclists set to do battle at Blenheim Palace.
Last year’s event saw three-time Vuelta a Espana winner Roberto Heras and GB time-triallists Michael Hutchinson and Julia Shaw take part, with the trio to return for the fifth edition.
Participants are timed over two laps of the 6.5km course, with winners of the national Brompton championships in Spain, Japan and the USA all set to line up.
The race is part of the Breast Cancer Care Bike Blenheim Palace event, which also features a sportive and 20km time-trial.
“We were very pleased to have all the places filled so far in advance of the event,” said event organizer Katharine Horsman.
“It is testament not just to the Brompton World Championship but also to Breast Cancer Care Bike Blenheim Palace that people come back year after year to compete.
“With the winners of the Brompton national championships racing, and attendees from 34 countries, this is not only the biggest folding bike race in the world, it is also a truly international event.”
