The Cotswold Spring Classic cyclosportive will return on Easter Monday, 5th April 2010, for its second edition. Following a successful first running on Easter Monday 2009, the organisers have kept to the format with the only sportive in the country on that day, giving riders the opportunity to round off their Easter weekend with a great day out on the bike.
With a choice of two routes 179km and 105km, well stocked feed stations, National Escort Group motorcycle outriders, neutral service support, electronic timing, photography, a finisher’s goodie bag and much more, it will provide the perfect way for any over-indulgent cyclist to ride off that extra chocolate Easter egg.
Starting from Cirencester in the heart of the Cotswolds, both routes give a great combination of stunning scenery and tough climbs. The total altitude climbed may not seem too hard, but climbs in the Cotswolds are notoriously steep; after the 2009 event a number of riders said it was harder than the Etape du Tour. Full details of the event can be found on the Cotswold Spring Classic website and, with entries filling fast, it’s an event not to be missed.
