Extended visiting hours at Eurobike '08

EUROBIKE 2008 is set to be more exciting and innovative than ever before. The international trend show of the bicycle industry will introduce new extended opening hours for this year’s event from 4 to 7 September. In 2008, EUROBIKE will open its doors to the public one hour later (10:00 am) but close two hours later (8:00 pm) in the evening.

There are three good reasons for this change: exhibitors and trade visitors will have an extra hour to take care of business at the show, the longer opening hours in the evening are in keeping with today’s trends, and the new schedule significantly helps to reduce roadway congestion by eliminating trade show rush hour traffic in the mornings and evenings.

“With our new image, we also aim to increasingly underscore the major significance of EUROBIKE based on the visual perception of the event. We need the right brand profile to match the worldwide leadership objective of the trade show” said Marketing Director Ludwig Meier when asked about the decision to launch a new campaign.

International, innovative, top-notch and high-tech oriented: These are the qualities that are reflected in the new EUROBIKE image. The new campaign also includes a revised logo that is more in keeping with today’s tastes. Plus the show has moved its homepage to a new location: www.eurobike-show.com.

In 2008, the international bicycle trade show will once again be a large-scale event with over 800 exhibitors, 30,000 trade visitors and 1,200 journalists from around the world. The world of bicycles will meet at Lake Constance from Thursday through to Sunday, 4 to 7 September 2008.

“EUROBIKE is the international meeting place for the worldwide bike scene,” says Messe Friedrichshafen CEO Klaus Wellmann. All the leading brands are represented at this business platform. As the top international trade show for the industry, EUROBIKE is also an important showcase for premieres and innovations. The response to the first Demo Day in 2007 was overwhelming. According to Klaus Wellmann and Project Manager Stefan Reisinger: “At the second edition of this event, on Wednesday, 3 September 2008, we again anticipate to see an enormous amount of interest.”

Due to the tight schedule of sporting events this year, including the European Football Championship, the Olympics in China, the Tour of Germany and the Tour of Spain, the annual “Altstadt Criterium” in Ravensburg has been cancelled. In 2009, with support from EUROBIKE, the organizers in Ravensburg plan to launch a new bicycle racing event.

New opening hours

The bicycle trade show is only open to trade visitors from Thursday through Saturday, 4 to 6 September, daily from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. Sunday is Open House Day, open to the public, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. General information is available at www.eurobike-show.com.
