The 2007 edition covers 196km between Foix and Loudenville on 16 July, crossing the Col de Port, Col de Portet d’Aspet, Col de Mente, Col du Porte de Bales and Col de Peyresourde. It is widely expected to be one of the most demanding editions ever of the Etape du Tour, and is already heavily over-subscribed.
