The London-Paris Cycle Tour has been asked to assist in the spectacular Tour de France – Grand Depart celebrations on the 8th July 2007.

The event, which welcomes Classics legends Sean Kelly and Johan Museeuw this year, has been asked by the Tour de France to provide a group to precede the professionals by a few minutes along the neutral zone from the start in Pall Mall (near Buckingham Palace) to Tower Bridge. London-Paris Cycle Tour participants will then line up with the pros on Tower Bridge for the anthems and official Depart. London-Paris Cycle Tourists will ride wearing yellow Grand Depart jerseys provided by the Tour de France organisation at around 32kp/h, and a full complement of 200 participants is expected.
