Women’s World Cup
Results from the Welsh GP at Newport on August 20, a round of the UCI Women’s World Cup. As we previously reported Nicole Cooke was a non starter, she has suggested that she will be back for the World Championships later in the year. In Newport it was the current World Champion, Judith Arndt (Equipe Nurnberger) winning a bunch sprint from 20-odd riders who had made the final selection.

“This is my first race in 11 months,” said Hamilton, who is appealing a two-year suspension for blood doping but was able to compete at Mt. Washington because it is an independent, unsanctioned event “I could have told you at the bottom that the wind would make it tough to get a record,” he added.
