Well no prizes for guessing who won our UK rider of the year for 2004. Bradley Wiggins took the RCUK Rider Trophy for 2004 (can someone make one?) easily, pretty much like he did at the Olympics this year. Well done Bradley.
This will be our first RCUK Readers awards. So we want to make sure we get plenty of nominations and some worthy winners.
So, without further ado, here are the categories we’ve come up with, from a list of thousands, well a few anyway. What we’re planning to do now is choose three nominees in each area before we throw the whole thing open to a public vote and hand the winners a, ahem, prestigious RCUK trophy.
And the categories are:
Best Road bike (under £500)
Best Road bike (over £1000, but under £2000)
Best Road Bike (pro-level-money-no-object)
Best New Cycling Product Of The Year
Best Clothing Brand
Best Online Cycling Retailer
Best Shop
Best Mechanic and/or Sales Service
Best Cycling Cafe
Best UK event
So, all we’re asking you to do now is head to the forum via the thread below to nominate your choices in some or all of the categories. We’ll (try to) add in a few deserving cases ourselves too. Then in a week’s time, the real voting will begin…
