Chris Hoy, British track sprinter, is set to take on his nemesis and the reigning Kilo World Champion at the opening event of Revolution season 3 at Manchester Velodrome on October 15th. In an exclusive 500m Head to Head race Hoy will be looking for some serious revenge after the 22 year old Dutchman snatched the World Championships from his grasp in Los Angeles earlier this year. Hoy has long been the daddy of the hugely exhilarating Kilo event having won gold at both the Commonwealth and Olympic Games and been World Champion in the event twice. He’s determined that the young up-start Bos is not going to steal any of his thunder at his home event.
Olympic Champion verses the World Champion is obviously going to be a big one and a head to head over 500m will be really spectacular as it will always be really tight, only a hundredth of a second in it. It will be an opportunity to get one back. I always look forward to Revolution as the racing and atmosphere with the crowds is unique. The 500m TT in front of the home crowd always gets that bit more out of you so it will be very special.” Theo and Chris will undoubtedly be the stars of the night but they will be joined by their team mates for what promises to be a fantastic team sprint show down. Bos will be teaming up with Tim Veldt and Tuen Mulder, with whom he came second to Britain at the World Championships, to take on Chris who will be riding with the hugely experienced Craig MacLean and our very own young up-start Ross Edgar. Tuen Mulder will also be showing what he’s made of in the Keirin – as the reigning Keirin World Champion we are expecting fierce competition from the hard men of sprinting in this the most aggressive event in track racing. Chris, Theo and Tuen will not be the only world champions gracing the boards, a further six rainbow jersey will be in attendance five of whom are Rob Hayles, Mark Cavendish, Chris Newton, Paul Manning and Andy Tennant.
