Revolution Six

RC

RCUK will be at the Revolution 6 in the form of a sponsored Madison team. We have signed up two riders to take on the world’s best, including Olympic, World Cup and World champions. We will be announcing the RCUK team in the next few days – Look out for their red, black and white RCUK jerseys!

So with all the talk of the Madison, you would be forgiven for thinking that Revolution 6 was all about endurance, you’d be wrong. With a great line up of British Sprint stars in attendance and a brand new event thrown into the mix, Revolution 6 held on December 4th at Manchester Velodrome will offer everything you would expect from a great night’s track racing.

The new event is to be a flying start 500m team sprint. Riders will race in teams of two against the clock for two laps. There will be four teams fighting it out and with the teams comprising of Olympic Heroes past and present it should be a fantastic event. The teams will be: Olympic Gold Medallist and World Kilo Champion Chris Hoy with team mate Craig MacLean, Former Olympic Champion and winner of the Kilo at the recent Moscow World Cup Jason Queally with hotshot Ross Edgar, John Norfolk and Matthew Haynes and Dave Heald and Barney Storey.

Also the Future Stars competition is getting heated too with young Steven Burke leading on 34 points he will be wearing the leaders Jersey on the night, but Adam Blythe who is just 5 points behind on 29 will be hot on his heels, and with only 12 points separating the top five it’s all still to play for in this unique competition wherein the winner at the end of the series will walk away with a top of the range Decathlon Road Bike worth over £1000.00.

With one more “Surprise Race” and two Olympic stars to be announced on Thursday 25th the racing looks set to be a veritable feast of action prior to Christmas.
