Rapha Condor Sharp are offering cyclists the chance to ride the full 2011 Giro d’Italia in the company of their pro riders.
The Gran Corsa d’Italia begins in Turin on May 29 and ends in Milan 23 days later having tackled the 21 stages of the Giro.
The 2011 Giro will cover 3,496km, includes ascents of Mount Etna and Monte Zoncolan, regarded as one of the hardest climbs in cycling, and has been described by Team Sky directeur sportif Sean Yates as “brutal”.
The Gran Corsa will be limited to 200 places and riders will have the opportunity to ride individual stages or the whole route.
Official details are yet to be announced but, according to a Facebook group, competitors will be accompanied by a pro Rapha Condor Sharp rider every week and a registration page will be online later this week.
The event will be officially launched at the Look Mum No Hands café in London in December, with Rapha Condor Sharp pro Kristian House, British champion in 2009, and John Herety riding a recce of some of the route later this month.
Meanwhile, Rapha Condor Sharp have signed Casey Munro as the 13th and final member of their squad for next season.
Earlier this week, Olympic team pursuit gold medallist and omnium world champion Ed Clancy and Andy Tennant joined the ranks.
