Geraint Thomas registered a top 10 finish in April’s Tour of Flanders and now the current Tour de France white jersey holder is offering amateur cyclists the chance to ride alongside him on Belgium’s famous cobbles.
‘De Ronde with Geraint Thomas’ is a three-day tour, on August 17-20, led by the Olympic team pursuit gold medallist, with 70-95km per day, including the infamous Koppenberg, Oude Kwaremont and Muur-Kapelmuur cobbled climbs.
The trip is organised by Thomson Sport and packages start from £869 per person. A professional photographer will document the trip and, following the first day’s riding, 16-time Tour de France stage winner Freddy Maertens will lead a guided tour through the Centrum Ronde van Vlaanderen (CRVV) – the home of Flandrian cycling. After the second day’s riding, Thomas will host a Q&A session.
