Bikeworks will make a bid on any bike listed and not sold on Going Going Bike during Team Green Britain Bike Week (June 18-26).
“Two thirds of old bikes are just abandoned which is both a waste of money and bad for the environment,” reads the Bikeworks press release.
“Help find your old bike a new home, clear some space and make some money to either buy a new one or to treat yourself to something nice. It could be worth up to £300.”
To take advantage of the offer, list your bike on Going Going Bike during Bike Week, but you must enter the frame number to ensure the bike is not stolen – then if your bike hasn’t sold by July 7 then Bikeworks will make you an offer.
Bikeworks is based in east London and uses bikes to tackle environmental, social & economic challenges in the capital.
Specific activities include recycling and refurbishing second hand bikes, providing dedicated cycle training and creating training and employment opportunities in the cycling industry for disadvantaged communities.
