The World heads to tinsel town
|
Yet another strong GB track team heads off to LA for the Worlds. It’s amazing that we are now considered a ‘super power’ in track cycling after decades with only a few track specialists making it through qualifying. We can now hope to come home with several medals rather than a few.
The good news is that even with Bradley Wiggins missing as he takes to the road, we could still manage medals from unexpected places. Promising riders like Ed Clancy and Mark Cavendish who are both coming into form at such a young age could easily pull off a result. The women’s line up looks good too and this could be the right time for Victoria Pendleton to realise her potential. The Sprint team seem sharper than ever and so fingers crossed for a massive medal haul.
The Great Britain Cycling Team will be contesting the 2005 World Track Championships in Los Angeles between the 24th and 27th of March.
