Final round of CTC Sportive Series in Worcestershire on October 16

The final round of the 2011 CTC Sportive Series touches down in Worcestershire on Sunday October 16.

Starting and finishing at Worcester Racecourse, there will be 100km and 150km routes available with an easy run out of and back into the city to avoid traffic, with plenty of parking on site.

The long route is based on the 2007 Tour of Britain stage and follows most of the original course – with a few extra bits added to make it tougher.

The classic climbs of Malvern followed by Ankerdine still feature but the route then takes in Stanhope Bank before Tenbury Wells and a short excursion into Shropshire before returning to tackle the ‘killer option’ of Wynniattes Way (a 25 per cent monster) if you feel up to it. The climb will be clearly marked from one mile out so you can decide whether you’ve got the legs for it or not.

Both routes will be fully signposted, with well-stocked feedstops on route, mechanical service at the start, motorbike outriders on route, and a broom wagon should you be unable to finish.

Entries can be made online or by post with a discount for CTC members and group bookings for teams of four or more. Entry fees are £17 for CTC members, £27 for non-members and £60 for any team of four. All profits go back into cycling projects.
