Garmin have released the Garmin Fit app for iPhone and Android, allowing cyclists to track key ride data through their mobile phone.
The app measures speed, distance, time and calories, while, with Garmin’s ANT+ adapter for the iPhone, users will be able to monitor heart rate and cadence.
Rides will be automatically uploaded to the Garmin Connect website, which allows users to log their workouts, track totals, set goals, and share workouts with friends and family. Garmin Fit will display the previous 30 days of Garmin Connect history directly on users’ smartphones.
“Garmin Fit is the ideal solution for users who are new to the fitness tracking landscape and for those looking to stay totally connected,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of worldwide sales.
“To be able to utilise Garmin’s powerful fitness accessories with the same device that plays music, makes calls and uploads workouts automatically to share and analyze, makes Garmin Fit a must have app.”
The app costs 69p and is available via iTunes and Android Market
