Scheduled for April Fool’s Day 2012 and promoted by event photographer SportivePhoto, the Southern Spring Classic is a new event on the UK cyclosportive calendar. It will be managed by the experienced UK Cycling Events team and will start and finish in Liphook, Hampshire.
A choice of two routes covering either 50 or 71 miles will be offered. The routes will take in a new cycle path that climbs to the top of Hindhead Hill. Finished in July 2011, the path was laid down as part of the A3 Tunnel construction project and will add an extra level of difficulty to routes that, while of moderate length, promise plenty of climbing and enjoyable scenery.
As a bonus from the promoter, who will be employing a larger than usual team of photographers, all photographs taken of the riders at this event will be made available to download free of charge.
